So that same day at 230 in the afternoon they where activated for another structure fire, this one at 1556 Manatuck Blvd. 3-2-33, Andrew Renison was first to arrive, and he transmitted a smoke showing alert. Chief Derbyshire arrived shortly, and he set the working fire alert off. Chief Renison confirmed he had an active fire in the basement and was searching for the basement stairs.
Two lines where stretched and one where advanced thru the front door. The basement stairs where located and the second line advance thru there. Fire had extended to the second floor in the old house which challenged the members to extinguish the blaze.
Two dogs where rescued from the premise but the family cat perished. No injuries were reported, and Mutual aid provided by Islip, Bay Shore, Deer Park, and West Islip.
