On Thursday, January 10th at 0430 hours the Brentwood Fire Department was activated for a Signal 13, a residential structure fire. Mike Derbyshire, Chief of the Department was first to respond and was advised that Suffolk Police where on scene reporting an active fire. He had dispatch alert all companies within his department and upon arrival transmitted the working fire. He observed fire showing from the front of the structure and had dispatch activate his mutual aid policy also.
The Engine Company stretched two lines to the front door and advanced one line thru the front door. A quick attack limited further spread of the fire. Brentwood Truck helped advance the first line and handle search and overhaul operations.
The Deer Park, West Islip and Bay Shore Fire Departments where summoned for mutual aid and the incident yielded no injuries.
