Working Fire @ 45 Connecticut Ave

On Monday, March 29th Brentwood FD responded to a working structure fire at 45 Connecticut Ave. Fire conditions where multiplied due to severe hoarder conditions. The operation was commanded by 1st Assistant Chief Ed Kelly.

Structure Fire @ 1583 N Gardiner Drive

 August 15, 2019

On Tuesday, August 13th the Brentwood FD was activated for a structure fire to the rear of 1583 North Gardiner Drive. Unit 3-2-80, Truck Captain, Chris Boyle was first on scene and transmitted the working fire in a two story utility building to the rear of the IO.The responding units where advised that this would be a long stretch to access the building.

 

Chief Andrew Renison (3-2-32) arrived on scene and assumed command of the operation. Brentwood Legion Ambulance was also on scene and handled rehab for the alarm. One firefighter was transported to Southside Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

All units where back in service within the hour.

Another Structure Fire in Brentwood

 March 19, 2019

On Tuesday, March 19th around 3 PM the Brentwood FD was alerted for a structure fire at 46 Yarnell Avenue. Chief Ed Kelly arrived first on scene and confirmed the working fire. 3-2-28 was on scene awaiting in engine and quickly sized up the incident as having a fully involved camper trailer along side the already consumed home. Four lines were used to bring the blaze under control. Bay Shore, East Brentwood, and Islip provided mutual aid.

Structure Fire – 1556 Manatuck Blvd – January 10th 2019

So that same day at 230 in the afternoon they where activated for another structure fire, this one at 1556 Manatuck Blvd. 3-2-33, Andrew Renison was first to arrive, and he transmitted a smoke showing alert. Chief Derbyshire arrived shortly, and he set the working fire alert off. Chief Renison confirmed he had an active fire in the basement and was searching for the basement stairs.

Two lines where stretched and one where advanced thru the front door. The basement stairs where located and the second line advance thru there. Fire had extended to the second floor in the old house which challenged the members to extinguish the blaze.

Two dogs where rescued from the premise but the family cat perished. No injuries were reported, and Mutual aid provided by Islip, Bay Shore, Deer Park, and West Islip.
